Barkley is Hiring a Senior Producer Near Kansas, MO

Let’s cut to the chase; we need a Senior Producer with solid experience in video production. You set the pace of your productions, lead with exceptional craft in mind and never settle for anything but the most elevated form of the work.

As a Senior Producer at Barkley, you are seen as a leader. Taking on every level of production and mentoring young and hungry talent.

It’s a tall order, yes. But you get to be part of a team of producers with a wealth of industry knowledge, partner with top creatives in the biz and have the opportunity to touch TV, experiential, print, social and whatever else people dream up in the future. All while being surrounded by some of the most inspiring people in the industry.

 

KEY AREAS OF OVERSIGHT:

  • The Sr. Producer should problem solve in a timely, cost effective manner. They should be able to juggle multiple jobs at any given time.
  • Familiarity with the daily ebb and flow of an agency along with the knowledge of how to best engage with multiple teams in order to produce work in a fast paced environment.
  • You are expected to be a creative problem solver and set the tone for being an extension of the creative department all while ensuring the production approach and point of view is clear.
  • Ability to build, estimate and articulate production costs internally and externally with confidence.
  • As a Sr. you are expected to work with autonomy and lead your productions with support for your Executive Producer.
  • Knowledge of industry agreements, trends, technological growth areas are expected. Thorough and in-depth understanding of production and post-production budgets and workflow is critical.
  • Knowledge of SAG rules and regulations is a must.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills are required.
  • You are expected to cultivate and establish relationships with Creative teams, Producers, Brand leads and clients is essential.
  • Advocates for diversity and unique perspectives within our production partners and process.
  • It is expected that you have a desire to build and cultivate relationships with production partners and stay ahead of industry trends.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and lead production approaches, schedules and budgets. 
  • Lead and produce work in an innovative way that enables ideas to thrive.
  • Staying current on production partners that work with the agency’s model of being agile and cost effective, as well as delivering on creative excellence.
  • Form alliances with Creative teams, strategy and account leads.
  • Have the ability to troubleshoot complex situations (cancellations, internal issues, client challenges, creative resources).
  • Work alongside Executive Producer to ensure SAG best practices and production approaches.
  • Create opportunities for emerging production talent within the production industry, understanding that diversity and inclusion is expected. 
  • Continue to push for progress in our DEI&B goals : Double the Line, seeking out BIPOC and Female production partners and talent. You believe that this work is never done and we will always continue to make progress.
  • Strong grasp on the international production landscape and utilizing this to bring greater efficiency and creative excellence when needed.
  • Be seen as a leader and contributor of Barkley culture throughout your department and entire agency

REQUIREMENTS :

  • 5 years of experience as a leader in a production environment. Agency experience required.
  • Ability to operate with significant autonomy.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently create budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to manage/supervise multiple projects within budget and ensure related timeline completion.
  • Ability to travel (both nationally and internationally) as required by projects
  • Experience in international production is a plus. 
  • Strong understand of SAG best practices and rules.
  • In-depth knowledge of production and post-production process.
  • Experience with production management and tracking software tools.
  • Experience in generating production plans and schedules.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
