As a Barclays Technical Business Analyst, you will be a part of Prime Finance IT organization and be part of Prime Data Application team which are broadly responsible for design, architect and develop Prime Data Platform by providing best in class Data Engineering, Data Management, Data Analytics and reporting services across all Prime business area facilitating external client reporting, regulatory reporting, internal reporting and critical applications that help the business in making right decisions to maximize profits for the firm.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances.

What will you be doing?

• Liaising with product management and key business stake holders (front/ middle office desk, risk managers, sales, quants etc.) 
• Managing end to end delivery and having the ability to work across multiple stake holders and drive the project from the front including–project planning, and risk 
• Coordinating requirements effectively with IT teams including Data Engineering, Data Architecture and Data Solutions
• Performing extensive data analysis and/ or POCs (Proof of Concept) for functional requirements either using Big Data and Python
• Identifying complex system and data flows across trading, settlement, bookkeeping and risk systems 
• Being responsible for supporting and understanding of the project delivery 

What we’re looking for:

• Solid experience with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Financial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Prior working experience as a business analyst in the capital markets domain with preferred experience in Equities/ Fixed Income areas
• Solid working experience with JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft MPP and Visio for creating end to end designs and project plans
• Solid development/ prototyping experience using SQL, and ability to write complex queries for data analysis across different data sets

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Knowledge of Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Cash and Synthetic Financing
• Development experience in Python, and exposure to Big Data/ Hadoop technologies such as Hive, Impala and Spark
