PURCHASING MANAGER

Banko Overhead Doors has been serving West Central Florida since 1984, providing residential and commercial garage door products and services in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Pasco, Polk, Orange, and Hernando Counties. We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Purchasing Manager to join our team. ABOUT THE JOB

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy and to maximize efficiency and productivity. This role is pivotal in the logistics planning process to identify problems within product development, manufacture, storage, and shipping of products. The right candidate should have strong communication and strategic planning abilities, along with a vast knowledge of ERP’s is a plus. Our ideal candidate is required to have a strong understanding of all aspects of the purchasing to warehouse cycle and be able to build lasting relationships as they increase efficiency and focus on warehouse optimization.

DUTIES OF THE PURCHASING MANAGER

  • Manage the purchasing process including the buying, selling and distributions aspects of the company.
  • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
  • Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
  • Communicate with the marketing and sales team to effect working strategies.
  • Analyze existing purchasing processes for performance.
  • Implement improvements to existing purchasing processes and delivery systems.
  • Identity and manage the MIN/MAX of products with the organize and all warehouses.
  • Identify new suppliers as needed based on quality, cost and reliability.
  • Maintain a good rapport with the company's clientele.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PURCASHING MANAGER

  • Bachelor degree in a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working in the purchasing department in the same or related industry required.
  • Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends.
  • Working knowledge of negotiation techniques in the industry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and social skills to build a good rapport.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great team player.
  • Flexible to travel and work long hours as necessary
  • Valid and clean 3-year driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
