Teller

Bank of Pontiac is seeking professional, motivated, customer-service driven candidates for our Full-Time Teller position at our Delavan, IL branch. Bank of Pontiac opened its doors for business in 1947. We are a strong community bank offering a variety of financial services to both individuals and businesses for the people of Livingston, Grundy, McLean, and Tazwell counties and their surrounding communities. Our Tellers are the face of Bank of Pontiac within the communities we serve. Their role is crucial in retaining our existing customers as well as growing and developing new customer relationships by continually offering outstanding customer service and ensuring that Bank of Pontiac is meeting their financial needs.

Our tellers must possess strong customer service skills, be community minded, team-oriented, dependable, flexible, be a quick learner, as well as highly motivated and be positive thinking.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Perform Teller transactions daily, paying specific attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency and potential fraud.
• Accept deposits of checks and cash and validate deposit slips
• Process withdrawals
• Process transactions of foreign currency, cashier checks, and money orders
• Handle large amounts of cash. Ensure meeting all cash handling requirements.
• Recording transactions, logging and preparing transaction reports
• Engage with customers to determine needs and assist customers with account related issues
• Maintain positive communications with customers and non-customers to develop new business and enhance relationships with existing customers
• Go the “extra mile” to build trusting relationships, customer loyalty and satisfaction throughout your interactions
• Promote all Bank of Pontiac products and services
• Adhere to Bank policies and procedures
• Demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions based on Bank policies, knowledge and experience
• Verify that all policies and procedures are followed and that the risk of fraud is minimized
• Perform all other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma is required
• 1 years of Banking experience is preferred, but not required; we will train the otherwise qualified candidate
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality
• Solid knowledge of mathematics and numeric abilities
• Problem solving issues at hand in appropriate manner
• Excellent communication both written and oral
• Be an effective listener
