Job Description:

Overview:

An experienced technical project manager to oversee upgrades and maintenance of a proprietary internally hosted Linux Redhat platform (Quartz) of approximately 6500 servers. Working with development and production support, the successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling upgrades and working with Linux systems administrators and key stakeholders to communicate and resolve issues. 

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive project plans to oversee the technical components of the Redhat migration project.
• Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items such as milestones and deliverables.
• Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Oversee onboarding and migration of servers with components ranging from database, grid, job scheduling and messaging.
• Provide assistance in the Change Management process; Opening Change Requests and managing changes through the change life cycle.
• Assist in managing subscriptions for Quartz servers with SMTP (mail), Backups, AIT changes.
• Run Health check reports and help follow up with team on remediation of issues in the reports.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of server infrastructure, provisioning best practices, hardware specifications and Change Management.
• Bachelors’ degree in engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Leadership experience and strong teaming abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Minimum five years in IT field.
• Experience driving large infrastructure projects including knowledge of project management tools such as Jira, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Skills:

• Previous Linux SA experience.
• Background in large financial institution.
