POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the maintenance and planning, coordinating, and participating in activities related to the design, development, documentation, implementation, of BEC infrastructure. This position will be responsible for supporting the servers and implementing backup, business continuity and disaster recovery systems and software applications within BEC. Assist with new server strategies, (like cloud technology) within security guidelines.

Role and Responsibilities

• Configure and install Windows Servers.
• Configure and install Active Directory and its components.
• Configure and install DNS, DHCP, Registrar, and TCP/IP server settings. 
• Configure and install Parent\Child domains.
• Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems including tactical/strategic technical research (R&D) of emerging infrastructure.
• Collaborate with and mentor fellow team members to educate on the implementation of new server initiatives, providing associated training as required.
• Resolve problems with Microsoft Servers, Windows computers, printers, and phone systems.
• Communicating on all open projects and giving updates to Director of IT and Support Desk staff.
• Build public and hybrid cloud-based, optimized reference applications, show-casing event driven, elastically scalable, fault tolerance and other cloud architecture patterns.
• Windows based servers/workstations.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere Suite 6.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco equipment including (but not limited to): Routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and desk phones (CUCM).
• Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning and analysis, performance analysis activities and incident management.
• LDAP experience.
• Ability to scope and specify technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of industry best practices and standards.
• Experience working with highly complex systems, and enterprise architectures.
• Proven technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience, especially in a virtual (VMWare) environment.
• Experience working with diverse storage technologies (Block, NFS) in a virtualized environment.
• Familiarity with core TCP/IP networking concepts.
• Excellent time management and able to multitask.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems or three (3) years’ experience in an information services/systems environment to include at least two years of cloud servers.
• Understanding and troubleshooting of MS Windows, Azure, AWS servers, and MS Windows desktop.
• 3  plus years of IT Support experience supporting Windows / Office 365 / MS Windows Server Environments.
• Experience must include operating system enterprise administration, performance management, use of systems management tools, capacity planning, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Knowledge of IT Infrastructure, including Security, Virtualization, Storage and Cloud technologies.
• Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks.
• Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks independently.
• Requires excellent project organization, communication, and analytical skills.
