Job Description

Immediately Hiring Sous Chef - salary - DOE full time

Be part of the Ballast Point kitchen team that is reimagining new menus, dishes, concepts and discovering the boundless opportunities between food and beer. The kitchen teams at Ballast Point are committed to handcrafting and locally sourcing everything in our kitchens. Work alongside our professionally trained Executive Chefs in a fun, positive and communicative kitchen.

Applicants must be 18 years old or older

Ideal candidate will have stable tenures, strong attention to detail, track record of mentorship and managing teams under pressure and passion.

Position Summary

  • Consistently uphold and monitor the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation to ensure all areas are kept clean, safe and code compliant.
  • Adheres to new COVID-19 sanitary guidelines.
  • Complete any additional tasks as assigned by the Chef or GM.
  • Work with the Food & Beverage management team to execute daily priorities.
  • Capability to teach and mentor others

What we're looking for:

  • 2 years plus Sous Chef experience in a high-volume restaurant
  • Participate in the creative process of developing daily menu specials
  • Ordering and inventory support.
  • Oversee food production at all stations, assisting line cooks, as needed
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork skills and abilities
  • Make sure team members follow recipes, prep lists station opening / closing checklist
  • Has a positive, professional attitude; always on time and focused on the job they need to do
  • Ability to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May occasionally lift, push, pull, reach for, and move items weighing 50 lbs. or more
  • SERV Safe Food Handler Certified
  • Escalate personnel matters such as employee attendance and disciplinary action to management team
  • College degree/Culinary school degree preferred, but not necessary
