Baird Holm LLP is Hiring a Billing Specialist Near Omaha, NE

We are growing! Baird Holm LLP is looking to add an additional Billing Specialist to our Accounting team! Bring us your experience in high-volume billing and we can offer you a great team environment, great benefits, flexible working environment, and the ability to play a key role in the overall success of the department.

The Billing Specialist's primary responsibility is to work with all members of the Firm to insure the accurate and timely processing of all data necessary to complete client billings and collections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up new clients and matters in the billing software.
  • Ensures time records from attorneys are posted timely and accurately.
  • Create month-end proformas and edit based on information from appropriate billing attorneys.
  • Convert proformas to monthly invoices and mail/email to clients according to billing instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and current billing instructions for all assigned clients and matters.
  • Enter weekly client "soft costs" into billing system.
  • Post daily cash receipts.
  • Compile necessary reports for the executive committee.
  • Monitor and manage outstanding client balances; preparing monthly aging reports, sending past due notices to clients, contacting clients in regards to past due invoices.
  • Resolves billing inquiries from clients, attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES DESIRED:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma with two years related billing or accounting work experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
  • Above average computer skills with an intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • High degree of accuracy and aptitude for math and figures.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to maximize time efficiently.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a professional environment.
  • Positive customer service orientation.
  • General knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger accounts and how they relate to billing and collections.
  • Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance.
