Babson College is Hiring a Remote Relationship Development Manager (Advancement Inside Sales)

The Relationship Development Manager (Advancement Inside Sales) will serve as a volume-driven outreach manager for the Advancement Office and will be responsible for prospect outreach, connectivity and relationship maintenance, and bridging introductions to appropriate prospect managers for major gift follow up. As a representative of the College and the Development Division, the Relationship Development Manager will also manage a local portfolio of prospects. Key Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 locally-based individuals who are capable of making gifts of up to $100K (and some who are capable of gifts between $100k-$250k). Develop, recommend, and implement appropriate strategies for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donor prospects. Consult with Development colleagues, Alumni Engagement and Annual Fund team, administrators, faculty and other volunteers as appropriate. Serve as liaison, linking prospects with prospect managers. Build and maintain deep philanthropic relationships with a portfolio of high-net worth individual and institutional prospects. Partner with traveling Gift Officers to help populate their visits to maximize their productivity in region; prepare Gift Officers with necessary briefings and background material for informed and thoughtful visits. Identify and qualify new prospects through daily outreach via phone and online that results in an average of 50-60 meetings per month. Assist division leadership in maintaining ongoing, consistent outreach to priority prospects. Work with advancement colleagues to engage and expand the pool of volunteers and prospective donors and in coordinating solicitation strategies and campaign activities. Prepare written briefings for senior leadership and faculty visits with donors and prospective donors, as well as follow-up documentation and correspondence. Plan and manage events in collaboration with Alumni and Annual Fund related to the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors. Partner with team members to increase participation in the region. Assume additional responsibilities as required. Supervises: N/A Education Requirements: Minimum Level of Education Required Bachelor’s Degree Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements: Must have at least 5-7 years of fundraising major gifts experience with a proven track record of closing 6-figure gifts and above or 7-10 years of similar experience. Must have exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, and the ability to be effective at engaging with all levels of the College Demonstrated ability to establish creditability and confidence with donors and prospective donors Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, faculty, and other constituencies Ability to work independently and (particularly) to formulate creative strategies for major gifts advancement. Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support Entrepreneurial Thought & Action; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions Ability to successfully contribute to the Advancement team Must possess the integrity, intellectual depth, and confidence to effectively engage and partner with key internal and external stakeholders Must have exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Must be flexible and willing to assume new tasks and special projects Must have strong technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Working Conditions: If based in the U.S., must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College’s insurer’s criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College’s vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee’s driving record based on the College insurer’s criteria; and safety training as required by management. Babson College requires all Babson faculty and staff members authorized to work on our campuses or any other property owned or controlled by the College to verify that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
