JOB DESCRIPTION

Bümo child care providers help implement weekly themes, lesson plans and daily activities. With all Educare team members, they will maintain a safe, healthy environment for children. Our providers assess each child’s growth and development, as well as actively participate in daily activities with children. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides a safe and stimulating educational environment
• Preps for daily activities: includes following a daily curriculum as well as innovating daily activities for the children (i.e. circle time)
• Helps meet basic needs of the children (diaper changes, restroom breaks, basic hygiene protocols, snacks, meals, nap times, etc.)
• Develops various teaching aids for use in the classroom, including activity sheets, drawings, and similar handouts.
• Presents subject matter to children or adults, under the guidance of a supervisor, utilizing a variety of methods including stories, discussions, and role-playing.
• Leads classroom activities; may confer with parents on children's progress in the absence of the supervisor.
• Assists children, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Provides care for children ages 2-11 years of age. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated
• Must be able to commute to Pasadena, CA.
• Must be available to work on Saturdays. Center hours are 10am-7pm.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Ability to provide activities for children that encourage healthy growth.
• Child supervision skills.
• Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
• Skill in preparing instructional aids and plans.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• B.A./B.S. in Early Childhood Education or related field; enrollment in Early Childhood Education or related field at accredited university/college; or CDA credential/equivalent. 
• One year of experience working with children from birth to five years, or school age, in a center setting.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• This is an onsite position. 
• Pay ranges from $17-$25/hour depending on qualifications and experience.
