We are looking for a Palliative Care Coordinator to help with admissions, insurance contracts, case management and other office and administrative duties.

Applicant must be able to work independently, have good interpersonal skills, be detailed oriented and have a working knowledge of basic healthcare documentation needs. Applicant must also have a current driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic administrative tasks
• Coordinate and document insurance contracts for admissions
• Schedule client appointments/visits according to Care Plans and staff availability
• Contact care providers and clients
• Maintain staff and client information in database
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations
• Perform general office duties
• Take calls after hours and weekends to handle emergencies, scheduling issues, and client referrals/intakes

Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Active patient contact within past 3 years, preferred

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Working knowledge of basic software required
• Ability to evaluate situations and make complex decisions using critical thinking
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to work with changing technology, including software programs
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain valid auto insurance
