Title: Finance Manager

Location: Huntsville, AL

Position Status: Full Time

Work Schedule:

Regular hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Employees may need to adjust work hours during surge situations.

Brief Job Description:

The Finance Manager performs various accounting functions and oversight as well as support for accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for month end closing process and preparation of financial statements for various entities, for CFO's review, VP, owner and outside parties (bankers and auditors)
• Analyzes and reviews monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals, variances to forecast, and reconciliation of various accounts, fixed asset administration, and various employee benefit accounting
• Supervises accounts payable process and accounts receivable billing process
• Provides tax compliance support, as needed, for various state reporting (Sales and Use and Payroll Tax)
• Oversee the operations and development of the finance department, including monitoring and updating policies, budgeting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures

• Maintains various spreadsheets to support financial transactions and analysis of various expenses
• Assist with software implementation of manufacturing and aviation activities
• Assists in preparation of audit work papers for year-end audits with outside auditors
• Assists with proposal pricing
• Participates in the annual budget process for the company and interim forecasting
• Responds to internal and external customer requests as appropriate

• Assists company in executing company policies and compliance procedures
• Completes other corporate accounting duties or supervision of duties as assigned
• Performs other tasks as needed

Requirements

• Must have at least seven (7) years proven experience with significant accounting responsibilities, cost accounting experience a plus
• Should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA is a plus
• Public accounting experience in auditing or tax is a plus
• Must be capable of passing a drug screen
• Must be capable of passing a background check

• Must have excellent skills in MS Excel and Word. Advanced knowledge in Excel understanding concepts of databases, filtering data, use of mathematical, logical, statistical and financial functions is a huge plus
• Knowledge of QuickBooks, Unanet and iSolved/PNI software is a plus
• Tax experience in some general payroll or corporate tax laws/preparation is a plus
• Government contract accounting or manufacturing experience a huge plus
• Must have strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize work

• Must be detail oriented with good analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks independently
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must have attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
• Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are required

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

Generally, work is conducted in an inside office environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates and while on travel.
