Job Summary and Opportunity

Axos is creating the most advanced platform at the intersection of Trading, Banking, Investing, and Crypto and we’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team. In this role you’ll be working with tech partners and business stakeholders across the firm to continually enhance our award winning Advisor Platform. This position will sit on-site at our office in Centennial, CO.

The targeted compensation is $110,000-125,000/Yr, commensurate with your skills and experience. This role is eligible for a bonus, based on your individual performance. Axos offers full benefits that includes 3 weeks’ vacation accrual, paid sick leave, along with the NYSE observed holidays.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with architects and other developers on specifications, designs, standards, code reviews, and test capabilities
• Contributes to architecture, coding, testing and deployment decisions
• Partners with Product, Project, QA, DevOps, and Support teams to release high-quality software and ensure its reliable operation in production
• Mentors other developers in technical best practices and growth
• Authors Java code changes to address technical debt and advance the application architecture roadmap 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field OR equivalent training and experience
• 6-10 years’ hands-on experience building production applications using Java platform technologies
• Sound understanding of Java internals (garbage collection, performance, class loaders), network fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS), and security (OAuth, JWT, XSS, CORS)
• Commitment to code quality and automated testing
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST, JSF, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with JEE, JPA/Hibernate, SQL, and MongoDB in production applications
• Experience with Git, Gradle/Maven, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and AWS cloud infrastructure
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• Previous financial services industry experience
