Job Summary and Opportunity

Accounts Payable’s mission is to provide professional, courteous service to the Axos Business Units and Suppliers by disbursing funds in an accurate, reliable, and timely fashion while maintaining high standards of quality to facilitate the Company’s goals and objectives. We are looking for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our growing team.

On this team, you will continuously learn about the banking industry and specifically about the products and services offered at Axos Bank. You will gain exposure to many departments within the Bank, and as your experience here grows, your value within Accounts Payable will grow as well. Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle accounts payable function including purchase requisitions, receipts, invoice validation, and disbursements
  • Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to policy; authorize for payment and actions payment
  • Leadership of staff 
  • Provide guidance to internal and external consultants on process enhancements and upgrades to Oracle Cloud Fusion Financial and Procurement software
  • Create and implement changes to processes and procedures to meet operational needs, improve accuracy, and efficiency of Oracle
  • Support Shared Service Controller and business units with the budgeting process; cost management, reporting, and forecasting initiatives
  • Formulate, recommend, and implement changes to department policy or procedure to ensure integrity of the accounts payable system, interpret policy, and advise staff of appropriate changes to policy and procedures
  • Develop and maintain accurate and timely vendor and expense reporting
  • Ensure the accurate entry of transactions to the accounting system
  • Liaison with Vendor Management to ensure tracking, adherence to policy, procedures, and reporting
  • Educate staff regarding Accounts Payable and travel and expense policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliant with federal and state regulations governing payments to vendors. Understand proper IRS tax documents and plans and execute the annual 1099 reporting process
  • Monitor activities, anticipate problems, and ensure accurate recording of transactions submitted to financial systems
  • Oversee maintenance of disbursement record retention, which requires initiating and reviewing retention schedules based on knowledge of federal and state regulations; implement changes to procedures and policy as required

Requirements

  • 5 years' progressive accounting 
  • Automated and manual processing of invoices
  • ERP (Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, Workday et.) 
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Management of staff/team with strong business and leadership acumen
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, regulations, and procedures as they relate to purchasing and accounts payable
  • General ledger systems and subsystems
  • Financial reports from accounting records
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
