Axon is Hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager (RTO) Near Seattle, WA

Our Team

The Technical Program Management team at Axon lead technical initiatives across Axon. Technical Program Managers drive delivery of platform solutions, product, engineering, PDLC/SDLC, and infrastructure operations. This role will work closely with our Real Time Operations (RTO) team. The RTO team is responsible for a number of impactful products, including Axon Respond. Respond integrates location data and video feeds from Axon devices to give a complete picture of evolving situations on any device anywhere. This real-time situational awareness leads to faster responses and safer outcomes.

Your Impact

  • Identify, improve, optimize, and automate software engineering processes
  • Define engineering success metrics
  • Define and build engineering reports and dashboards
  • Build excellent project plans, manage cross team dependencies and ensure clear communication of issues
  • Work with Axon engineering teams closely and drive day to day execution of the projects you own
  • Coach the team on how to use agile practices to ensure an Agile culture is established in your team.
  • Identify gaps in the Agile process or skills to improve on, to make the team work better
  • Maintain excellent, collaborative stakeholder relationships

What You’ll Do

Location: Remote anywhere in US or onsite in Seattle, WA or Scottsdale, AZ
Reports to: Director of Technical Program Management
Direct Reports: None

  • Define team’s reporting format, measures, and cadence. Standardize and optimize for RTO leadership, partners, stakeholders, and team members
  • Develop solutions, plans, alignment, schedules, and implementation of improvements
  • Implement/maintain on-going processes, artifacts, reports, status, ceremonies
  • Develop and drive a risk management framework
  • Facilitate the team’s growth to the next level of agile maturity
  • SDLC Optimization
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance best practices for program management processes and tools

What You Bring

  • 10 years professional experience in leading and managing system/software delivery
  • A proven track record of planning and delivering on multiple overlapping projects spanning several months
  • Experience as lead TPM for software product delivery
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor engineers
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Excellent knowledge of Agile and Scrum techniques and artifacts.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking, reasoning and written communication skills
  • Drive for results, delivering the best possible outcome commensurate with the level of investment required for the situation.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts by working to find common ground teams can rally behind
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, seeing around corners
  • Being comfortable with discomfort, plotting a course without complete information
  • Ability to build trust with senior leaders by aligning your priorities with theirs, providing timely, accurate, and succinct status updates, and helping other teams when needed
