Your Impact 

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, People Operations, the People Ops Business Partner will serve as a strategic partner to our Operations organization. As a People Ops Business Partner supporting our Operations team, you will play a critical role in aligning our people strategy with our business objectives. You will work closely with Operations leaders and team members to provide strategic HR guidance, drive employee engagement, and foster a culture of innovation. Your responsibilities will include talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and overall HR operations.

What You'll Do

Location: Scottsdale (In office 2-3 days a week)

Reports To: Sr. Manager, People Operations

Direct Reports: 0

  • Supports deployment of global HR programs such as the annual performance & rewards cycle, talent calibration & reviews and the employee engagement survey
  • Provides direction amidst changing business priorities to ensure comprehensive and legally sound HR solutions.
  • Analyzes HR metrics and data to identify trends and propose data-driven solutions to improve employee engagement, retention, and overall team performance. Delivers anecdotal and analytical insights to managers.
  • Partners with Operations leaders to resolve a high volume of employee relations issues in a balanced, fair, and objective manner, using appropriate counseling, investigative, intervention and mediation techniques.
  • Advises and assists Operations leaders in handling employee performance concerns and performance improvement plans.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional global HR teams to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization while considering the unique needs of the Operations team.
  • Participates in internal customer meetings to ensure alignment of strategic visions and partnership on business priorities.
  • Applies and supports knowledge on labor regulations and work rule processes in resolving labor and employment issues.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and best practices in the technology and start-up space to ensure our HR programs and policies remain competitive and effective.
  • Executes roadmap to ensure compliance, performance management, career development, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Effectively communicates with executives, leaders, and team members at all levels in cross-collaborative projects and processes.
  • Prioritizes and owns multiple projects simultaneously, follow through on requests in a timely manner, and bringing awareness to areas of improvement.
  • Works independently and as a team collaborator with the ability to change direction quickly and often without having all the details.
  • Travel between 2-3 Axon Office/Warehouse locations within the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an HR Business Partner.
  • Microsoft Office, Quip, Outlook, Slack, Voxer, Sharepoint and other tools.
  • Demonstrated success supporting front line workforces in operations, warehousing, and/or manufacturing teams.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills using MS Excel, with the ability to incorporate metrics and analysis into HR delivery.
  • Well-versed in using existing HR Systems, workday, and technology and tools, and MS Office.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates in the technology industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 84,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 150,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 105,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 188,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
