Overview
Exciting opportunity to join Team Axient supporting our Accounting team!!! We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
- Generate payment to vendors and employees on a routine schedule
- Setup and maintain records/files for all payables to include 1099 vendors
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
- Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices
- Support month-end and year-end closing
- Maintain up to date knowledge of any applicable federal, state, or local regulations and communicate changes
- Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the AP function in accordance with records retention policies and procedures
- Match purchase orders to invoices and enter invoices into accounting system
- Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
- Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are used
- Develop and maintain a filing system for financial information, records and documents to ensure easily available information
- Participate in internal and external audits to include audit preparation
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
Qualifications
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word, Outlook
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and have excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently, multi-task, quickly assess risks/problems, and develop recommended solutions
- Should possess strong work ethic
- Must be a team player and display professionalism at all times
