Job Description: General Function / Summary: The Internal Auditor focuses on executing financial, compliance, and operational audit and/or advisory programs independently and objectively. This position works with the Internal Audit leadership to manage the internal audit process and procedures to uphold industry standards and meet the objectives defined in the audit plan to evaluate risks; regulatory, financial, and operational. Essential Duties: Assist in the management of internal audit processes and procedures. Collaborate with Internal Audit leadership on engagement approach and execute on the audit plan using a risk-based approach. Develop key internal audit deliverables, including process flows, audit work programs, testing plans, risk and control summaries, and audit reports. Conduct interviews and process walkthroughs with business owners to understand the business processes, ascertain key risks, areas of concerns, and the expected internal controls that should be in place. Independently execute audit tests and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the business areas processes, policies, or controls. Utilize strong analytical skills to identify, define, and resolve problems. Collect or interpret data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Develop recommendations for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and internal control including the evaluation of return on investment and validate with key stakeholders. Maintain knowledge of audit methodologies and demonstrate commitment to execute work efficiently, in compliance with auditing practice standards. Document findings and recommendations clearly and concisely. Assist with external audit facilitation. Successfully coordinate multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, and complete assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Manage special projects as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. A minimum of three years of work experience in a related field. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff. Demonstrate advanced verbal and written communication skills. Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline. Demonstrate creative thinking and individual initiative. Preferred Requirements: Holding a relevant certification (CPA, CIA, CFE, etc.) is preferred. Physical Demands: Normal office work environment. Travel / Attendance: Less than 10% domestic travel.
