AWG is Hiring a Produce Buyer Near Goodlettsville, TN

SUMMARY: Responsible for clerical duties and maintenance of order support system of the Department. Assist member stores with issues and concerns to best supply retail. To further assist the director, buyer and field staff of the Department with other requests as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. The list is not all inclusive of duties that may be requested by the department head or a member of upper management but are intended for an understanding of the purpose of the position. It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate customer service to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sales and profits.

Receive telephone calls from store members and vendors regarding add‑on orders, handbills, and miscellaneous information. Resolve problem call from members, referring exception cases to appropriate buyer or department head.

Assist Buyers to maintain service level by creating and tracking inbound purchase orders. Also distribute guide books to Buyers.

Perform billings and vouchers as needed.

Complete monthly reporting.

Calculate and record retail price sheets and product price sheets for distribution using A.R.C. or other methods to communicate the changes to member stores.

Create and distribute weekly pre-book bulletins or special sales information to member stores.

Responsible for supporting buyers with set-up of new items and vendors, and file maintenance on UPC codes, to include price changes.

Enter handbill information from stores and buyers through system for add‑on orders and distressed product.

Set up and transmit miscellaneous bulletins and memos, such as prebook reminders, using ARC.

Sort and distribute all incoming mail and miscellaneous correspondence.

Enter miss-trips, damaged, and short dated claims, called in by member stores, to on-line credit system for processing.

Maintain department filing.

13. Work as a member of the AWG team so the total job responsibilities are met. Actions must always stress a sense of cooperation, integrity, tact and consideration with our members, associates and division management.

14. This position requires strong communication and computer skills with the ability to use and learn new technology. The Flawless Execution method will be utilized in all planning and communication. Management will be kept informed on planning, analysis, work performed and results. All records required by management must be complete, accurate and submitted on time.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

This position's basic purpose is to use all available resources to guide the AWG Perishable Merchandising department to continuous growth and financial success
