AVONDALE HOUSE is Hiring a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Part-time Near Houston, TX
- Providing direct treatment assistance to students
- Following and implementing documented treatment plans as designed by the Speech Language Pathologist or through the IEP/ARD process
- Documenting the student's progress with established objectives
- Assisting the SLP with documentation and performing clerical duties
- Preparing therapy materials and following established lesson plans
- Adapting materials based on student needs and abilities
- Maintaining student records, collecting data during therapy sessions
- Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders; or graduation from a speech-language pathology assistant program
- Licensure in the State of Texas as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-Assistant)
- Previous experience working in an educational setting
- Previous experience working with individuals with Autism and developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of normal speech and language development, language disorders, articulation disorders, assistive technology, routine office procedures and recordkeeping, and standard software applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in oral and written form
- Ability to implement Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time.
