The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the national not-for-profit association established in 1863 and representing over 99,500 veterinarians working in private and corporate practice, government, industry, academia and uniformed services, is seeking a News Reporter to join our Marketing and Communications team at our Headquarters office in Schaumburg, IL, a northwest suburb of Chicago.
Reporting to the Senior News Editor, the News Reporter is responsible for writing articles and other content on veterinary and animal-related news of interest to AVMA members, the veterinary profession, and other stakeholders for publication in AVMA’s print and electronic media. They will work collaboratively with staff, volunteer leadership and other stakeholders to write on a variety of topics including veterinary-related legislation, regulatory policies, animal diseases, public health issues, scientific research, veterinary practice management and other professional issues. 10% travel.
