Customer Service Specialist 1084641 

A leading University is seeking a Customer Service Specialist. The successful candidate will supervise volunteers and uphold the excellent front-line service at the information desks and in the galleries of the Cantor Arts Center. The ideal candidate is proficient in working with iPads, Eventbrite, Volgistics, and problem-solving basic IT issues. 

Customer Service Specialist Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $18/hr
  • Worksite: Leading University (Stanford, CA 94305)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, PSL
  • 40 hours/week, 3 Month Assignment

Customer Service Specialist Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise volunteers to ensure that they have the materials they need for their shift (charged iPads, exhibition and program calendar, up-to-date visitor guidelines).
  • Process catalogue sale transactions.
  • Supervise volunteers in checking in visitors and processing walk-up reservations as required.
  • Serve as a resource to volunteers in providing visitors with basic information regarding exhibitions, tours, and programs; and with directions and information.
  • Act as a resource to address escalated visitors' questions and concerns.
  • Refill print collateral in kiosks throughout the museum and place visitor-related signage as needed.
  • Support turning on/off media related to exhibitions on the weekends.
  • Help ensure an inclusive and equitable experience for all visitors.
  • Work in cooperation with all museum staff, security officers, and volunteers to ensure visitors’ needs are met.

Customer Service Specialist Qualifications: 

  • Strong customer service experience and enjoys meeting and working with a diverse audience.
  • Proficiency working with iPads, Eventbrite, Volgistics, and problem-solving basic IT issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Skillful conflict resolution ability: capable of successfully resolving visitor complaints as well as volunteer questions and concerns.
  • Committed to University’s diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI) priorities and creating a space where all visitors feel welcome at the museum.
  • Willing and able to perform duties independently once provided with the training.
  • Open to feedback and guidance from museum staff.
  • Compliance with university policies, including COVID-19 vaccination and safety guidelines.

Shift:

  • Part-time and will not have a regular assigned shift.
  • Possible weekends and national holidays.
