Sr. DevOps Engineer

The Avellino Lab Enterprise Architecture Team is tasked with developing the Next Generation of healthcare and genomics Industry-focused compute capabilities. Our Team is an Industry-established and highly respected group of healthcare based technical solutions professionals.

The Enterprise Architecture Team is looking for a highly motivated, Cloud-Agnostic DevOps and full stack Engineer with experience in cloud technologies focusing mainly on build-out, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our platforms and infrastructure. You will become part of a diligent team of engineers that deliver infrastructure to host mission-critical applications in a next generation multi-Cloud/On-Premises compute environment, providing support with well-known and out-of-the-box solutions, guaranteeing the highest level of availability and performance for in-house developed applications. This position requires the highest technical skills in scripting and integration related to Cloud-based and On-premises Automation, Deployment, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD), Optimization and Agile Methodology implementations

Requirements

Candidate Qualifications:

§ BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineer, or related commensurate experience

§ 5 years of experience in UNIX-based and MS Windows environments

§ Deep familiarity with multiple Cloud vendors (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack)

§ Understanding of DevOps concepts to collaborate, develop automated solutions, and enhance our Continuous Delivery initiatives

§ 2 years of experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting LINUX (CentOS/RHEL and Ubuntu) platforms (*NIX OS, LAMP, SQL, NoSQL, web application deployments)

§ 2 years of experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server platforms (Windows OS, IIS, MS SQL Server, BizTalk, and ASP.Net applications deployments)

§ Advanced Experience with Bash (programming)

§ Experience with PowerShell (programming)

§ Experience with Orchestration and Automation using Chef, Salt Stack, Puppet, Packer, GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, JIRA, more.

§ 2 years of experience installing and configuring LAMP-based applications on IaaS frameworks

§ 2 years of experience installing and configuring React, Node.js, and Python applications on IaaS frameworks

§ Experience with Virtualization (OpenStack, VMware vSphere, and System Center Virtual Machine Manager) and containerization (Docker, AWS ECS and EKS, more…)

§ Proven Networking knowledge (TCP/IP and OSI stacks) and familiarity with connectivity concepts implements on Servers, Load Balancers, Domain Name Service (DNS and Route 53), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and subnetting

Responsibilities:

§ Integrate, Deploy, Manage and Monitor full-stack, Cloud-based and On-prem applications developed in-house.

§ Integrate and Deploy automation

§ Coordinate and migrate on-prem applications to multi-cloud/multi-tenant environments.

§ Troubleshoot and identify solutions for Performance/Connectivity issues, Application functionality disruptions, Network Load Balancing, working together with developers and business stakeholders alike.

§ Maintain and promote Security, Availability, and Redundancy strategies

§ Develop custom scripts to increase efficiency in process and system, with the objective of reducing human intervention on any repetitive tasks

§ Provide support for Avellino’s systems as needed

Desired Qualifications:

§ Possess AWS certificationsw

§ Experience with CICD Automation, Service Management Automation (SMA), System Center Orchestrator, and working with AWS and Hashicorp technologies (Terraform, Vault, Packer)

Configuring Application Insights and other monitoring tools for PaaS and IaaS applications
