Role Description
Our Medical Assistants act as a liaison between the physicians and patients by working directly with the provider to deliver high-quality, compassionate customer service and clinical care.
Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPPA laws
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices and treatment rooms
  • Triage patients as necessary
  • Record patient data prior to each physician’s visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration), height, weight, head circumference, allergies, and medication changes
  • Obtain necessary patient records as required by physician and verify consent prior to treatment or procedures
  • Assist physicians with exams and a wide variety of procedures, including but not limited to injections, dermatologic procedures, pelvic exams, EKG’s, eye exams, managing dressings, POC lab tests, and performing x-rays (training provided)
  • Administers medications orally, vaginally, and rectally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and intradermally. Administering prescribed drops to the nose, eye, and ear, applying antibiotic ointments to the inside of the lower eyelid
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed
  • Maintain proper disinfection protocols
  • Schedule patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging
  • Complete all forms used by the provider, including but not limited to, growth charts, MPE, pap forms, cytology-pathology forms, etc.
  • Phone in prescriptions and distribute proper medications as ordered by the provider
  • Administer vaccines and injections
  • Other duties as necessary (ECGs, peak flow, spirometry, POC testing such as strep, COVID, flu, RSV, and HCG…)
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Associates degree in Medical Assisting, preferred
  • One of the following or a similar certification is preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Graduate of Medical Assisting Program (MA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • 1-2 years of experience, preferred
  • Must pass Avance Care Competency Check (Medical Knowledge Assessment and Vaccination Knowledge Assessment)

  • Rotation #1: Monday 8am-4pm, Wednesday 11am-7pm, Friday 8am-4pm
