We are an AI driven small business lending and investment platform company that has an immediate full-time opportunity for a customer service and sales oriented professional. The VP Human Resources will be responsible for the overall development and oversight of the HR program across all locations and countries. He/she will manage the development of policies and procedures related to staffing and retention, performance management, training and development as well as serve as the compliance officer for payroll, benefits, and diversity and inclusion.

At AVANA Companies, we specialize in lending to specific niche industries that we’re highly knowledgeable in, such as hospitality, elderly care facilities, and healthcare facilities, because it enables us to provide the best possible service for our borrowers and minimize risk for our investors.

Our company has launched two platforms recently - a small business lending platform (LendThrive™) that will drive online originations for small balance lending on working capital, equipment, inventory and accounts receivable. Our second platform (EqualSeat™) is to provide access to retail investors to co-invest with institutional investors in SME loans.

Duties and Responsibilities

Company Policies, Procedures and Regulatory Compliance (40%).

Directs the development, implementation and coordination of policies, procedures, and programs covering employee training, employee relations, organization development, safety and health, security, employee benefits, compensation, and payroll administration. Ensures adherence to uniform standards of working hours, overtime, vacations, leaves of absence, holidays, compensation, benefits, and related policies. Maintains employee database (BambooHR), including benefit and payroll administration.

Effective Recruitment/Assessment (20%)

Conducts recruiting across all levels. Searches for sources of candidates including colleges, technical schools, and job fairs. Coordinates outside recruiting, including search firms and placement agencies. Checks references. Develops ads and places job opening advertisements. Ensure staffing diversity and develop management reporting

Employee Performance Management (20%).

In conjunction with management, administers the evaluation systems, performance and employee mentor/development programs. Interfaces with management to develop and plan employment objectives and increase employee retention. Assists managers and supervisors with employee relations issues. Reviews and provides feedback to managers and supervisors on the performance appraisals of their employees.

Effective Training Program Design, Development and Facilitation (20%).

Designs complex technical, operational, and soft skills training programs, materials, and job aids for employees. Conducts needs assessments and evaluations and monitors changes in operational policies and procedures in order to develop and update programs. Designs programs to meet more complex training needs. Facilitates technical, operational, and soft skills training programs.

Required Education and Qualification

  • Minimum 4 years commercial real estate experience
  • Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-national environment
  • Ability to multi-task, solve problems and think quickly
  • Strong attention to details, highly organized and ability to notice data discrepancies in
