The Role

This position is responsible for ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. The associate will also be responsible to handle AP related inquiries and help field associates and vendors with any payment or invoice related issues.

Duties and Tasks

1. Ensure timely processing of payment through various software systems.

2. Provide accounts payable support for Construction and Development by responding to various database requests.

3. Review expenses for accuracy and compliance with company policy.

4. Research vendor inquiries about payments and invoices.

5. Acts as liaison between communities and vendors

6.Ensures appropriate discounts are taken

7.Monitors and resolves daily invoice exceptions

8. Run and analyze AP reports as needed.

9. Pull back-up for audit requests.

10. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Performs basic Microsoft Office applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations• Performs basic arithmetic skills (measurement, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in order to do basic calculations and analyses such as estimating, determining averages and percentages, and calculating totals as outlined under the Business Math Policy (8-01) in the AvalonBay Procedures Manual• Reads and writes English as demonstrated by clear and concise written and verbal communications. • Creates and delivers group presentations on function-related subject matter and writes reports in a clear, concise form.• Demonstrates excellent time management and organizational skills• Maintains working knowledge of accounting software systems• Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and is highly detail oriented• Displays a strong customer service focus, as well as a strong sense of teamwork and work ethic
