The Director Product Management is responsible for the overall success of assigned strategic product(s) or families of products throughout their complete lifecycle from inception through sunset. The Director Product Management is the internal and external strategic product champion and expert for their assigned product(s). They will work closely with the Line of Business (LOB) leadership, including the General Manager (GM), scrum teams and additional Portfolio Directors and/or Line of Business Leaders as applicable. The Director Product Management should ensure that product(s) meet these standards: 1. Environmental Assessment: Collaborates with the Line of Business leadership and other Availity experts (e.g., strategy) to understand and articulate the market opportunity and necessary features of the product(s) based on customer feedback and competitive intelligence. Interacts with customers regularly to ensure knowledge of needs and drivers are reflected in priorities for the product(s); 2. Communication: Ensures the product vision, requirement features, capabilities, service models, business models, etc. for each product are documented, fully understood by all constituents, and prioritized. 3. Alignment: Ensures all Availity resources (including sales, service and technology) are properly aligned to deliver and monetize products. 4. Course Corrections: Resolving/overcomes all barriers, roadblocks and issues that block success of products and monetization of products, including resolving tactical prioritization issues; and 5. Accountability: Creates accountability by creating/monitoring critical performance metrics. 6. Revenue and Profitability: As the internal and external portfolio evangelist, the PLD is accountable for overall product success in both revenue and profitability. To be qualified for this position you: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience Experience with modern technology architectures, database technology, virtualization, and the impact of government initiatives and HIPAA privacy and security regulations on system design. Demonstrated experience with real time processing systems. Experience working in an Agile and/or iterative development environment. Experience representing company and products to the client and industry to influence and solicit feedback. You will set yourself apart with: You have worked with providers, health plans, clearinghouses or other organizations including comprehensive understanding of healthcare EDI transactions. You have a Master’s Degree and / or an advanced degree in healthcare or technology related field You have experience with business case development and pitching concepts You will be: Leads and manages teams to ensure we deliver on commitments. Ensures that projects are completed and properly documented according to product specifications, timelines and quality standards. Enables the portfolio strategy by delivering a commercially viable product and roadmap and ensures all factors of a go to market strategy are enacted. Develop market insights by maintaining close relationships with the market for awareness of market needs. Works with Marketing, Sales and others as they identify appropriate markets and develops effective strategies and tactics for reaching them. Owns the Go-To-Market strategy. Assists sales in their interactions with prospects and users. Collaborates with Market Research to strategize, plan, and prioritize market, product, and subject matter research that identify and define opportunities to support and grow business. Specifies market requirements for current and future products supported not only by research, but also through ongoing visits to customers and non-customers. Monitors costs and resource commitments and creates reporting to ensure the GM and PO are informed on the financial status as well as delivery of the product(s). Actively evaluates potential partners that could aid in delivery of applicable product(s). Actively assist in managing such partners to ensure success of product(s). Plans, directs, and tracks technical, cost, and schedule management for assigned product as well as the allocation of resources (contract or employee) to each product implementation, negotiating agreements across department lines as required. Maintains product budgets including monthly accrual and forecasts. Monitors costs and resource commitments and creates reporting to ensure the GM is informed on the financial status of the product. Identifies ways to improve efficiency of the development process. Owns product metrics, progress, user experience and operational outcomes and regularly communicates outcomes against product goals to drive iterative improvements. Coordinates the implementation of new products/features into existing operations. This includes internal communications, metrics, process design and operational readiness. Collaborates and influences across the Availity matrix organization to align the activities of product, marketing, IT, sales, and service teams and their leaders to deliver the product(s). Drives cross-team innovation and enterprise thinking to actively seek opportunities for growth through product line extensions and workflows, geographical and channel expansion, or operational/cost improvements to existing products. Ensures technical feasibility, architectural alignment, scale and performance of solutions by engaging and soliciting feedback from the right technical, operational or enterprise team members.
