We are excited to be recruiting for new talent to join our growing and innovative team – Senior Human Resources Generalist! The Senior Human Resources Generalist position is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

This position provides human resources support to the organization by assisting with employment, personnel records, employee relations, job performance evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organizational development, and training and reports directly to the Vice President of Business Operations.

The responsibilities of this role may include:

  • Conducts the onboarding process including review of company policies and benefit plans and collection and processing of new hire paperwork
  • Conducts the offboarding process including conducting the exit interview and processing separation paperwork
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Makes bi-weekly payroll entries for both organizations including confirming any employee self-service (ESS) changes
  • Administers benefits across both organizations including processing life events and new hire benefits enrollment; processing annual open enrollment elections; and reconciling monthly bills
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Processes education and training reimbursement request and ensures grades are provided
  • Plans for company and community events to uphold employee morale
  • Manages employee resumes by formatting resumes appropriately to the company template, saving them to the appropriate SharePoint repository to link the file to CostPoint
  • Assists with the performance management program by processing compensation increases, promotions, and transitions
  • Issues company handbooks and tracks acknowledgements
  • Processes verifications for employment (VOE)
  • Responds to general inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, timecards, etc. from employees and leadership at various levels of the organizations
  • Files soft and hard copy documents appropriately
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

To qualify for this position, you must possess a HS Diploma/Equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred. Additionally, 3-5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably with a DoD Contractor is required. 
A PHR or SHRM-CP certification is desired. 
Additional qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Intrinsically motivated; self-starter
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required
