AutoZone is looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to be part of their growing team! Responsible for identifying opportunities to automate IT operational tasks, implementing solutions, and driving performance to reduce impact and risk of traditionally manual processes that include planned jobs, root cause remediation, preventative work, and other labor-intensive efforts. You will be challenged to solve complex technical problems with unique solutions, identify improvements and work on implementing your recommendations.

• Identify repetitive tasks that should be automated, then prioritize and implement solutions
• Collaborate and consult with the DevOps/Release Engineering team to determine opportunities to monitor, alert and automatically remediate expected and unexpected behaviors, and implement solutions in concert with application releases
• Work with other team members to enhance automation skills and processes
• Work with problem managers to identify and meet opportunities to avoid repeat occurrences to avoid future service interruption
• Document processes, follow all ITIL requirements for implementation
• Develop and maintain production automation systems, tools and processes to support broad deployment of operational jobs/scripts as needed across the organization
• Delegate work to other less experienced engineers and provide coaching / mentorship
• Accurate work planning and execution; accurate project and time tracking

 What We Will Need to See:

• At least 4 years of experience in support of IT automation efforts
• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related required 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Significant attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience with Nagios and HP/Microfocus tools is a strong plus
• Experience with SOAP, REST API, JAVA, SQL and scripting (Shell, Python) is required
• Experience with Ansible is strongly preferred.
• Machine learning experience is a plus
