AutoZone's Associate Systems Engineer is responsible for performing various tasks spanning the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in support of AutoZone’s Enterprise Communications and Legal. This position requires both technical knowledge, experience, and aptitude as well as good interpersonal skills and the ability to work, and build relationships, with multiple other business and IT teams to complete daily tasks and resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new, and modify existing, customizations (portlets, themes, hooks, etc.) for Liferay Portal
• Develop new, and modify existing, web services supporting integration between various internal and external platforms (DocuSign, API Gateway, VMWare Tanzu, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)
• Develop and/or implement and configure new applications, solutions, or platforms using modern technologies to replace legacy systems which fail to meet current business needs
• Modify legacy applications supporting various business processes (communications, electronic signature, recognition etc.) across multiple functional areas (Enterprise Communications, HR, Loss Prevention, Marketing, etc.) to provide new functionality/capabilities, implement bug fixes, and accommodate changes in technology, security, existing integrations, etc.
• Perform monitoring and recovery for internal and external Liferay Portal implementations and multiple other applications
• Timely respond to, and resolve, support tickets
• Train and mentor other members of the team
• Create clear and concise technical documentation
• Perform code reviews
• Query backend data sources and produce reports
• Work with other IT and business teams

Required:

• 1 Years of Experience with Java
• 1 Years of Experience with modern JavaScript Frameworks (specifically React)

• Experience with Scripting Languages (Bash, Perl, etc.)
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Experience with Linux
  • Must know how to perform common tasks such as:
    • Navigating the filesystem
    • Creating, debugging, and testing shell scripts
    • Using common tools and commands (ls, less, more, head, tail, vi, grep, history…)
    • Moving and Copying Files to and from different servers as well as to and from Linux and Windows
  • Must have ability to learn more advanced tools (sed, awk, etc.)
