Position: Sales Development Representative

The Sales Development Representative (SDR), will report to the Director of Sales, Lyons Commercial Data will identify and qualify potential customers using various prospecting methods. The ideal candidate will excel at researching leads and build their own unique strategy for sourcing potential clients. This strategy will encompass building relationships with potential clients and acting as a trusted advisor to generate interest in our products. The SDR will act fast with qualified leads making introductions to Sales Executives. The SDR will remain in contact with customers who aren’t looking to buy or who are still identifying their needs so to know when they might benefit from our products.

Essential Functions

  • Develop sales strategies to draw in potential buyers or to solicit new potential customers.
  • Collaborate with sales executives to ensure the company's goals and targets are met and to develop different strategies as the market demands.
  • Initiate contact with potential customers through calling or responding to inquiries generated from various channels.
  • Utilize CRM, cold calling, and emails to generate new sales opportunities.
  • Research target customers thoroughly and develop an informed approach when responding to inquiries.
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of the Company’s products and services to act as an expert with prospects and leads.
  • Identify how our solutions meet potential client needs and present products for consideration.
  • Move solid leads to a salesperson, and arrange in-person meetings, emails, or phone calls.
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects following up with potential customers who expressed interest but did not purchase any goods or services.
  • Make regular follow-up calls or send emails facilitating communication with existing customers to ensure their satisfaction and identify new potential needs.
  • Develop outbound lead generation campaigns to improve the company’s brand name and target new prospects. 
  • Identify best practices to refine the Company’s lead generation process.
  • Pursue new business opportunities in the market, follow new product launches, attend outside events, webinars, live streams, promotions to remain competitive and abreast of industry developments.
  • Retain records of all interactions with prospective clients for reference and review so warm prospects needs remain known.
  • Provide reliable data to management to assist in decision-making for launching new products.
  • Report weekly, monthly, and quarterly results to the Sales Team and VP of Operations adjusting the overall sales strategy for reaching potential customers as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports but is required to work collaboratively across all functions.

Position Type and Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This position may require working additional hours daily and on weekends should workloads require this to meet deadlines.

Travel

This position requires up to 10- 20% travel dependent upon events the Company requests the incumbent attend.

Education and Experience

  • Advanced Degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 -3 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, or in Business development within a professional services environment.
  • Able to track leads and a pipeline in an organized way which others may review for sales development.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Able to utilize social media outlets to generate brand awareness, find leads and engage with different audiences.
  • Understanding of the sales process to generate interest in Company products.
  • Experience with email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, and web analytics.
  • Experience working with CRMs, Dynamics CRM desirable, not required.
  • Basic HTML and website development desirable, but not required.
