We're looking for an energetic, driven, hands-on manager to effectively run our 2nd shift at our Coldwater, MI distribution center. This is a second shift position. A successful applicant will be managing and overseeing up to 20 team members and all related functions for the various departments within the distribution center. These are including: Receiving, Order Selection, Shipping, and Equipment Operations. While meeting strict deadlines to ship out our product in a timely manner and motivating employees to ensure high levels of productivity, this position will a require a focused individual driving improvement. Job Requirements:
• Recognize top performers, coaching and progressive discipline for poor performance• Source and nurture ideas and roll them into the creation of improvement plans• Understand safety procedures, ensure safe working practices and document accidents/incidents timely• Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring all proper safety procedures are enforced and followed• Ensuring work areas are kept clean, neat and well-organized• Conduct time-card review daily and weekly to ensure pay accuracy• Work closely with other departments to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives• Lead and develop warehouse team to deliver unparalleled customer service.• Manage daily plan to exceed expectations for quality, productivity and accuracy.• Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and within the entire organization• Set and clarify departmental requirements and expectations while creating an environment of teamwork, collaboration and open communication• Prioritize meeting deadlines appropriately• Maintain "hands on" accountability for the department goals.• Recommend changes, revisions, additions or deletions to procedures. Continue to monitor the efficiency and cost effectiveness of said procedures.• Monitor loads to ensure merchandise is loaded according to quality and accuracy standards with a strong focus on customer service and high-quality communications with stores serviced• Drive results and approach obstacles proactively
Requirements:
• Three (3) or more years of management experience in a high volume, automated distribution environment, or educational equivalent• Experience leading a warehouse team including: hiring, training and motivating.• Strong leadership, administrative, organizational, managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills; Ability to lead by example, mentor, develop, and foster a team environment are essential• Progressive analytical ability to gather and interpret information then; develop, recommend, and implement pro-active solutions• Exhibit professional behavior while coping well with ambiguity and change• Ability to repetitively lift up to 50lbs and to stand/walk for 8 hours• Must be able to pass a background check• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, on a frequent to continual basis in a warehouse environment• Reach above shoulder level frequently• Ability to work in an environment where the temperatures vary with season
• Associates degree recommended, not required
