AustinPeopleWorks is Hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor Near Dallas, TX

The real estate market is booming, and with our property portfolio rapidly scaling we are seeking a dynamic Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our growing team. In this highly visible position, under the direction of the Controller, you will assist to maintain the integrity of the general ledger, monitor department budgets and oversee routine department activities to ensure timely and accurate processing. Responsibilities also include the compilation, analysis and reporting of financial information, and special projects as assigned.

The Role: This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Supervisory oversight of all AP department activities to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time
  • Develop, implement, improve, and enforcing department budgets, policies, and controls to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of AP functionality within the Company’s accounting system (NetSuite)
  • Hire, train, motivate and manage accounts payable team members
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial and client records
  • Compile, analyze and report on financial information to management
  • Develop and facilitate the achievement of department objectives
  • Build and maintain productive work relationships with employees, clients, and vendors
  • Assist with property accounting activities as required
  • Other activities as assigned by the Controller

Qualifications and Experience:  We are a new company and it is important that the person filling this position is able, willing and excited to be part of building out the accounting function.

  • Bachelor's degree required, accounting or finance discipline preferred
  • 5 years of accounting experience with some public accounting preferable
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and financial processes
  • Experience in real estate property level accounting is beneficial
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with good problem-solving ability
  • Experience managing a team is a must
  • Experience managing high volumes
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proficiency with Excel and with ERP systems, NetSuite experience beneficial
  • Able to manage time effectively, completing assigned work within set
    timeframe
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Adaptable and comfortable operating in a highly dynamic working environment
