We are seeking to engage a senior practitioner to join our Planning Design Team in a full time position, to further drive and expand on the team's recent successes with major infrastructure, transport and energy projects. The Urban Planning team has a diverse offering of both strategic and statutory planning activities which is supported by the Aurecon’s Integrated Design team which includes urban and landscape designers, heritage specialists and in-house GIS experts. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’. Use your strong experience in applying Commonwealth and Western Australian planning and environmental approvals legislation to prepare approvals strategies, development applications, planning scheme amendments, and strategic planning reports. Provide strategic advice relating to land use, development opportunities, due diligence assessments and design development. Assume leadership responsibilities including preparing fee proposals and tender submissions, assessing and reporting on technical documentation, leading multi-disciplinary project teams, managing sub-consultants, and delivery of projects Interact with internal and external clients, providing sound advice that meets client needs Build on your existing stakeholder relationships and networks to achieve positive results for clients and work with the team to generate new business Develop others within the team by sharing your knowledge and collaborative work experiences Undertake and help lead stakeholder and community engagement processes. What can you bring to the team? Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining planning in the current environment and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need relevant qualification in Urban Planning or equivalent experience. Previous work on infrastructure, energy and major projects will be viewed favourably. Our successful applicant will bring: ~5 Years working experience in a similar position. Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently and also lead project teams High level of interest in working to support major projects Well developed understanding of strategic policies, processes, and influences. A demonstrated ability in provision of planning advice for complex projects, including understanding of the timing to secure planning and environmental approvals, and relationship with project delivery programmes A base level of design and graphic skills would be desirable Advanced understanding of the decision drivers of Commonwealth, State and local government to inform preparation of planning strategies, site masterplans, and structure plans. Experience in running projects on time and within budget and the ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with internal and external clients and decision-makers Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects.
