Job Description
Classification: Part-time, hourly non-exempt.
Anticipated hours: 20-40 hours per week. Hours will vary based on need and volunteer coverage.
Shift: Variable hours ranging from 5:00pm and 7:00am Sunday through Saturday.
Overview
Room At The Inn Support Staff are the primary staff at the Room At The Inn—an emergency, overnight shelter winter shelter. Support Staff monitors the guests and the property, maintaining safety at all times. They assist with the initial intake of new guests and the ongoing supervision of all guests in collaboration with any volunteers for Room At The Inn. Support Staff are expected to perform their duties with professionalism and integrity in order to create and maintain a welcoming and safe environment. Support Staff report directly to the ACSRC Development Director.
Essential Duties
● Follow ACSRC operations policy and procedures and effectively deliver shelter services in accordance with ACSRC guidelines
● Maintain the safety and security of the guests and the property
● Complete the intake of new guests and all required documentation of services rendered
● Develop positive, healthy relationships with all guests
● Connect guests with community services and resources that maybe available to them
● Assist guests with securing resources as needed
● Respond to guests with compassion and empathy and help guests identify barriers and resources needed to overcome barriers to housing.
● Assist guests with developing goals and plans to secure permanent housing
● Supervise and monitor all guests ensuring they comply with all rules and policies
● Oversee volunteers

● Treat all guests with respect upholding the ACSRC values and philosophies
● Communicate regularly with the ACSRC board of directors
Qualifications
● At least 21 years of age
● High school diploma or its equivalent
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to keep boundaries
● Ability to lead and instruct
● Willingness to listen and to empathize
● Prior experience in the field of homeless services, mental or substance abuse disorders, or other related fields preferred
● Ability to complete a Missorui state and federal background check with no violent crime, sexually related crimes, or crimes against children convictions.
