Duties & Responsibilities

Team Management

·Manage, train, and supervise a student staff team of A/V Lab Attendants, providing direction and support in the operation of media production spaces, equipment, and activities throughout the building.

·Manage scheduling of the Media Studio and provide oversight during student staff shifts, ensuring coverage and support during open lab hours, classes, and special events.

·Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and excellence.

·Facilitate skill development and mentorship opportunities for student staff members and studio guests.

Equipment Inventory and Maintenance

·Regularly inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain A/V equipment to ensure optimal functionality, and coordinate with technical support or outside vendors for repairs or replacements as needed.

·Perform research to stay informed about emerging A/V technologies and industry trends and develop plans for potential upgrades or investments in equipment to enhance the capabilities of the media studio.

·Maintain equipment inventory and track use to prevent losses, identify high-demand items, schedule repairs, and report on space and equipment utilization.

Events Support

·Coordinate with SCD staff and programming teams to plan, schedule, and fulfill A/V requirements for events and classes taking place in SCD.

·Collaborate with event organizers, instructors, campus departments, and external organizations to meet their A/V needs, ensure seamless A/V integration, and foster a culture of interdisciplinary cooperation.

·Participate in planning and coordination meetings to align A/V services with organizational goals.

Other duties as assigned; Will require work outside the typical hours of the standard work day, including occasional weekends, to work with student teams and support programming.

Additional Physical Demands

·Work will be done in a variety of spaces, including traditional office space and off-site space, including at events.

·Requires standing, walking, and moving equipment at least 50% of the time.

·Position involves moving upwards of 40 pounds unaided or with the assistance of others.

·Will require working evenings and occasional weekends to support events and student teams.
