Atmospheric & Space Technology Research Associates, L.L.C. (dba Orion Space Solutions) was born out of the vision for applying fundamental space physics knowledge to address real-world problems. Founded in 2005, and based in Louisville, Colorado, Orion Space Solutions is a leader in the “New Space” small satellite industry. This Opportunity

Due to our success, we are seeking an entry level to mid-level professional to join our team and fill the role of Software Engineer 1 located at our offices in Louisville, Colorado. This position requires a high level of proficiency in both scientific and embedded applications. Additionally, a skill set in Software Configuration Management and experience in project driven software builds is required. Applicants must have a passion for innovation and ability to work in a collaborative environment while delivering on individual assignments.

Your Impact

Software Development (80%)

• Design software solutions for various projects for both customers and R&D
• Create documentation for software design, requirement and specification
• Convert various languages into C to improve speed in both scientific and embedded applications

Software Configuration Management (20%)

• Design and implement software builds/environments
• Create documentation for Software Configuration Management design, requirement, and specification
• Learn/Utilize new software applications for development

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant field
• 3 years’ experience
• Linux/Unix/Python/Java/JavaScript
• High level proficiency in C
• Proficiency in other languages
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in IDL, MATLAB
• Familiar with Firmware software development
• Payload, BUS or Mission Operations Software development
• Cloud development (AZURE / AWS)
