Description

Roles/Responsibilities

Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization. Duties include analyzing the difference between company costs and standard costs, developing budgets, auditing financial transactions, conducting market research, and preparing reports for company leadership. 

  • Formulate and execute budgetary resources for various projects and perform analysis and research on special high-level areas of concern.
  • Provide advice, assistance, analysis, support, and guidance to senior leadership on complex controversial, and highly complex budgetary/financial matters.
  • Work closely with supported organizations to ensure all requirements are valid and defendable.
  • Perform the budget execution and close-out work for all funding.
  • Monitor and document actual and estimate reports.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure cost forecasting reports are consistently checked and applied.
  • Develop, interpret, and disseminate policies and regulations related to all aspects of Financial Management such as Financial Management Regulation, Federal Acquisition Regulations, OMB Circulars, and other directives.
  • Identify fiscal, budgetary, and accounting vulnerabilities and changes and be able to recommend solutions.
  • Prepare a variety of reports covering the status of funds, obligations, and expenses.
  • Prepare and distribute invoices, verifying that they comply with organizational policies and accurately reflect changes incurred.
  • Submits invoices electronically using multiple customer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors in business, accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong skills in excel, SAP BW, and SAP ECC.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal or written) effectively within all levels within the organization.
  • Balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet plans & goals.
  • Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in Budgeting and Forecasting.

Specialized Experience Required for this Position

  • Deltek/Costpoint experience- preferred
  • Providing day to day technical guidance and advice on the examination processing of financial, accounting, and budget execution programs.
  • Applying concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and/or financing sufficient to manage or analyze mission-related programs.
  • Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, and execution practices.
  • Preparing plans, reports, charts, graphs, briefings, and correspondence in a clear and concise manner on budget information.
