Atlanta Women's Healthcare Specialists is Hiring an IT Support Specialist Near Atlanta, GA

Description

 Atlanta Women’s Healthcare Specialists is looking for an IT Help Desk/Support Specialist to support our IT department and employees. This position is responsible for the reliable support of the organization’s computer network, hardware, software, and resolution of help desk tickets. Duties performed in conjunction with the IT Manager include installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software; establishing and maintaining user accounts; assisting backup and recovery tasks; monitoring and implementing security controls; creating and maintaining documentation; and adhering to organizational policies and procedures. In addition, this role responds to and resolves help desk tickets, troubleshoots problems, provides technical expertise, supports internal users, and provides EMR support as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Reports to: IT Manager

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot computer and network issues for local and remote users.
  • Reset user passwords as needed.
  • Log detailed support tickets for every support request.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common printer issues.
  • Troubleshoot/setup wireless devices (Laptops and wireless access points.)
  • Work with third-party vendors to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
  • Setup and secure new user desktops and laptops.
  • Rebuild/refresh computers as needed.
  • Maintain an accurate device inventory.
  • Ensure work assignments and IT cases are completed to end user satisfaction while adhering to company policies.
  • Create, change, and delete Active Directory and Group Policy objects.
  • Setup and manage end users in a VoIP phone system.
  • Assist with account maintenance for employee hiring, moves, & terminations.
  • Deploy software updates (OS and company-required software)
  • Troubleshoot and optimize computers consistently and efficiently, avoiding “one-off” solutions.
  • Assist with after-hours IT projects (planned system upgrades, hardware replacements, etc.)
  • Help with installation and configuration of virtual servers.
  • Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration.
  • Develop employee “How-to” documents and assist with IT systems documentation.
  • Work directly with patients to troubleshoot patient portal issues.
  • Administer Exchange email platform.

Requirements

 Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 8.1, 10, and 11.
  • Conceptual understanding of LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and Remote Desktop Services.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar technical major.
  • Alternatively, will consider candidate with one or more current IT certifications (MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, Network , Security , or similar).
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience administering Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, and 2016,
  • Work experience in healthcare or other federally-regulated industry.
  • Ability to administer Debian-based Linux distributions from the terminal.
  • Experience with hypervisors (VMware, KVM, XenServer)
  • Experience with storage area networks.
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, CMD)

  • Position requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
