Atlanta Dream WNBA is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Atlanta, GA
- Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Assist with data collection and analysis for individual departments and executive leadership
- Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, and reconciles accounts.
- Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
- Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash and per diem.
- Calculates and reports sales tax
- Maintains the general ledger
- Assist in the accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Files tax and sales tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Prepare and enter journal entries, accruals/reclasses, and variance analysis
- Ensure that all deadlines are met in accordance with closing dates set by management
- Work directly with operational personnel to gain an understanding of the processes behind the assigned accounts
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
- QuickBooks Online and/or be able to learn other accounting software systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to correctly prepare sales tax reports.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide verification of vaccination prior to start date
- This is not a remote position
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field, preferred
- At least three years of related experience required
