Atlanta Botanical Garden Inc is Hiring a Pastry Cook Near Atlanta, GA

Description

In order to ensure the safety of our employees and guests during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Atlanta Botanical Garden follows the recommended guidelines of the CDC. COVID 19 Vaccination is required for all new hires.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, this part-time position is responsible for the preparation and design of Longleaf Restaurant Dessert menus along with any pastry food items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help in the preparation and design of all Dessert and pastry food item menus
  • Attends all BEO and Event meetings
  • Works opening, mid and closing pastry shifts during the work week
  • Lead production of high-quality plates both design and taste wise
  • Ensure that the Pastry Department operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise within the function and control relevant problematic situations
  • Delegate tasks related to food prep, cooking and delivery of food to diners in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that the recipes are being followed and made appropriately
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Assist in performing monthly inventory
  • Manage relationships with distributors
  • Follow Budget established by restaurant management
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Requirements

  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Must be Serve Safe Certified
  • Must be COVID19 vaccinated

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • lifting (up to 20 lbs.), bending/reaching, standing
  • weekend, evening or holiday work required to support the Garden
