The Athletics Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Athletic Trainer . This position is responsible for attending daily practice, competition medical coverage, including any associated travel for 1-2 athletic teams at Georgia State University.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Athletic Trainer provides athletic training services for 1-2 athletic teams. Applies tape, bandages, and braces to protect or prevent injuries. Evaluates injuries and provide first aid. Coordinates rehabilitation programs for injured athletes and injury prevention programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Communicates with staff, coaches and team physicians.
  • Documents injuries/illnesses.
  • Schedules physician appointments.
  • Verifies student-athlete insurance.
  • Responsibilities can include one of the following: insurance coordinator, mental health coordinator, drug testing/physicals coordinator, inventory/ordering for Olympic sports, inventory/ordering for football, etc.
  • May be responsible for one of the following: CPR instructions, credentialing, nutrition education coordination, intern recruitment or intern oversight.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Associate AD- Sports Medicine, or designee.
