POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently recruiting for Nurse Practitioner. This part-time position pays $39.00 per hour and is located in Rockville MD.

Employees assigned to this position are subject to Union membership, fees, and dues in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, and employment with ATHENA may be conditioned upon participation in client’s Union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· This is specialized professional community health nursing work providing mental health and somatic health care services in an Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN) role as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner -Medication Assisted Treatment, Psychiatric and Mental Health (CRNP-PMH)

· The CRNP-PMH serves adults in the jail and the community by conducting comprehensive medical examination, comprehensive psychiatric examinations, completing official clinical and non-clinical paperwork, ordering/performing/interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests, prescribing/dispensing MAT Medications (Methadone, Buprenorphine, Vivitrol), prescribing/dispensing psychotropic drugs, providing mental health therapy to patents, and performing other CRNP functions as assigned and consistent with state licensure/certification and regulations applying to CRNP-PMH

· Provides direct MAT services to adult clients as well as direct psychiatric services, including but not limited to prescribing and administering medications to adult patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

· Provides a variety of therapeutic modalities, engaging in numerous forms of MAT medication therapy, engaging in numerous forms of psychotherapy, making appropriate referrals, requesting laboratory, psychological and psychiatric tests and utilizing the results of the context of the patient’s therapeutic cause, signing commitment papers, and preparing other medico-legal documents, when clinically indicated.

· Maintains appropriate patient records, data, test results and statistics, posts appropriate results and notations in patient charts; and prepare reports

· Candidate must be able to telework/teletherapy during the continuation of this COVID-19 pandemic and able to work in the jail setting once restrictions are lifted post COVID-19

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Experience working with adults with behavioral health disorders.

· Experience collaborating with other adult patients such as the Department of Health & Human Services, Department of Correction & Rehabilitation, Maryland Division of Parole and Probation, etc.

· Candidate must clear a Criminal Justice Background Check.

· Candidate must obtain X-license or Buprenorphine Waiver.

· Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access database, etc.)

· Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.

· Ability to work collaboratively.

· Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.

· Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to prioritize tasks.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

· Holds a master’s, postgraduate, or doctoral degree from a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) (formerly NLNAC / National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission).

· Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner- Psychiatric and Mental Health (CRNP-PMH) required

· Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.
