What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Astound?
The Financial Analyst will take a role in developing, tracking and reporting capital expenditures for use company-wide. This includes capital support purchase requests, capital tracking and reporting, in addition to customer premise equipment forecasting and demand models. Provide financial support for corporate and market functions including reporting, analysis, and monthly close activities. Serve as corporate point of contact for all capital related issues, with regular interaction with accounting group and purchasing group to resolve such issues. Support monthly forecasting process and annual budget process including capital assumption development, model creation, market personnel training, consolidations and review.
The Primary position responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Review financial statements, direct costs and SG&A expenses by looking to MTD and YTD variances to Budget and Forecast
- Will lead preparation and consolidation of monthly and quarterly commission payments for sales team
- Develop and update detailed account analysis and roll forwards of P&L accounts to be analyzed on a monthly basis as a part of the monthly close/financial statement review
- Assist in preparing the annual budgets
- Assist with preparing monthly/quarterly forecasts
- Prepare Ad Hoc projects as needed to assist in analyzing financial data
- Partners with team members and business leaders to develop and understand capital metrics
- Partners with team members to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to determine areas of improvement
- Ensures source data is accurate along with subsequent reporting
- Work with various operational department heads as needed to understand the details behind their operations to allow for better forecasting and expenses
- Understand policies and procedures in place between operations and accounting and make recommendations for efficiency improvements when needed
- Use all skills effectively to assist team in managing the business
- Use Accounting software effectively to analyze financial data

Our Astounding candidate should possess:
- 3 years of experience in accounting or financial role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with Hyperion, Great Plains and Host Analytics (Planful) preferred

The base salary range in New York for this position is $50,000.00 - $85,000.00, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
