Description:
Control and verify financial transactions while ensuring the integrity of all accounting records
Analyze and prepare monthly financial statements, making sure the financials conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and the Company’s policies
Manage general ledger and balance sheet reconciliation
Maintain a strong control environment while helping the business to be nimble and efficient in decision making and execution
Manage month end and year end closings
Reconcile bank statements
Manage deferred rent and revenue
Manage reporting to various taxing authorities
Report discrepancies timely to Controller
Meet tight deadlines
Lead, develop and direct accounting team
Prepare month-end journal entries and accruals
Work with Controller and other departments to establish streamlined accounting procedures and assist in the business processes to identify savings, efficiency, and improvements
Prepare reports and documentation to assist in audits and reviews
Calculate and record warranty reserve
Calculate and record tax liability estimate.
Provide support for internal and external accounting projects and inquiries
Approve positive pay records and voided checks
Prepare and file business property taxes, city business licenses, and statement of incorporation
Prepare and sales tax including state registrations
Create ad hoc reports as needed
Ensure proper controls over cash
Maintain Chart of Accounts & related hierarchies
Manage payroll
Calculate, file and record worker’s compensation expense
Maintain worker’s compensation website to ensure all employees are captured and coded correctly for proper billing
Prepare and maintain worker’s compensation audit documentation; communicate with external auditor to provide accurate employee reports for payroll system
Implement supervisor and employee trainings on PayCom expense reimbursement software.
Calculate, reconcile, and transfer FSA and HSA funds
Reconcile Payroll taxes/941
Reconcile Medical benefits
Other duties assigned by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent in business/work experience.
5 years of accounting experience
CPA preferred
In depth understanding of GAAP
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures (P&L, B/S, Journal Entries)
Experience with month end and year end close processes
Experience with CSI Syteline preferred
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex issues in a simple manner
Must be detail oriented and organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Positive attitude, honesty, and a team player mentality
Maintain sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure
