Overview

AssuredPartners is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant who is highly motivated to learn and grow within the organization and has a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitask-oriented environment. The role reports directly to the Revenue Accounting Manager and is expected to collaborate with cross-functional groups to support the ongoing development of the Company’s revenue recognition process in accordance with ASC 606. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls over various aspects of the financial reporting process as well as technical accounting and financial reporting research. This role also requires significant communication and collaboration with the other corporate-based accounting functional teams (platform, corporate, financial reporting & technical accounting), regional accounting teams, field operations, corporate-level functional areas (IT, internal audit, FP&A, treasury, legal, admin, transformation, etc.), and others.

Responsibilities

• Calculates ASC 606 adjustments and prepares corresponding journal entries to be recorded during each periodic close.
• Coordinates with field operations to obtain/maintain relevant data inputs used in the ASC 606 calculations.
• Analyzes the monthly balance sheet and income statement activity related to ASC 606 adjustments to ensure financial information has been recorded accurately.
• Prepares revenue recognition footnote disclosures and supporting schedules for the quarterly and annual financial statements and MD&A.
• Assists with revenue accounting system implementation and operationalization as necessary
• Manages assigned projects by prioritizing work to meet deadlines and ensuring that accounting objectives are accomplished while keeping the Revenue Accounting Manager informed of project status and issues identified.
• Partners with M&A and post-merger integration teams to review revenue streams for newly acquired entities, ensuring ASC 606 revenue recognition for customer contracts are understood and align with business objectives while maintaining compliance with US GAAP
• Supports internal and external auditors by providing requested support for quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Demonstrates strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maintains a well-organized financial data and document warehouse.
• Responsible for proactive communication and the identification and elimination of non-value added activities that improve the efficiency of the department. Responds to internal and external customer information requests in a timely and appropriate manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual contact and group meetings.

• Travel is expected to be 0-15% in this role, depending on the needs of the company and at the discretion of the Revenue Accounting Manager.
• Role must be based in the Company’s headquarters office in Orlando, Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required
• Certified Public Accountant or equivalent license
• 3 years of progressive responsibility and experience in comparable business, finance, or accounting roles
• Thorough understanding of US GAAP; specifically, ASC 606
• Must have great communication skills and work well in teams
• Ability to handle multiple, concurrent assignments.
• Ability to work with large and complex data sets
• Former public accounting experience with Big 4 or mid-tier firms with at least 1 non-intern busy season of experience. SOX proficiency, IPO/SEC reporting experience is a plus.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as, probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts, such as, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
