Associated Fire Protection is looking to hire Fire Alarm Technicians based out of our Manalapan, NJ location- All skill levels.

General Description:

Supports the company by performing installations, testing, repair, inspection and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment.

Essential Functions- including but not limited to:

  • Perform installation, programming, testing, repair, and inspections on fire alarms, as well as other types of fire protection and security systems.
  • Complete inspection reports and repair work orders via mobile device and submit them on a timely basis.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Pull material for jobs as required.
  • Communicate with customers to review work and answer any service, quality or technical questions.
  • Other job specific functions may be required depending on level.

General Functions

  • This position includes a lot of interaction with customers and coworkers. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and enjoy collaboration with others.
  • The successful candidate should read and be aligned with company’s mission statement, vision and values.
  • Depending on skill level, the successful candidate must be able to manage, lead and mentor people.

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience and Education- including but not limited to:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to obtain any licenses or certifications as required in the area that you are working.
  • Experience working with fire protection and suppression systems is required.
  • Perform simple tasks independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer, phone and tablet literate.
  • Well organized, self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
  • Must be able to drive to and from jobs and have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job. Qualified candidates must be able to respond to NY emergency service calls.

  • Daily schedule may consist of work to be performed on various job sites.
  • May be required to work outside.
  • May be required to work at various heights and on lifts.
  • Frequently works with others and has customer/public contact, occasionally works alone.
  • The physical requirements are described as medium to heavy, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Visual acuity requirements include distinguishing color, ability to analyze data and figures, and proofreading.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
  • The employee is often required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Job sites may include construction sites and other locations where personal protective equipment will be required.
  • Job sites may include confined spaces.
  • The position has frequent periods of stress.
  • Job sites may include schools, hospitals, jails, pharmaceutical companies and other companies that may require additional background checks and medical and drug screens.
