Job Description: The Director of Training is an outward facing role focused on increasing acceptance and inclusion for autistic individuals through training and education for educators, mental health providers, healthcare professionals, co-workers and employers. The Director of Training is responsible for the oversight and management of the Training Department. As director you will plan, implement, and evaluate training events, including workshops, webinars and conferences. The Director of Training is supervised by the Director of Programs and supervises the Training Department team members.

Primary responsibilities include:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Set strategic priorities for the Training Department 
  • Champion new initiatives 
  • Assess and determine training needs for professionals and organizations
  • Supervise Training Department staff
  • Monitor departmental expenses and revenue
  • Develop strategic partnerships with external stakeholders

Training Development & Delivery

  • In collaboration with your team and conference committee, plan and execute annual conferences
  • Deliver and develop content for community training events
  • Partner with Speaker’s Bureau members and adjunct trainers to deliver trainings
  • In collaboration with your team, develop strategic plan for annual webinar series
  • In collaboration with the Grant Writer propose, plan and execute grant-funded projects

All other duties as assigned.


  • Applicants with personal or lived experience encouraged to apply
  • Degree in social work, education, psychology or similar field, with 3 years relevant experience preferred 
  • Mission driven and self-directed
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once 
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong content development skills
  • Ability to learn and use technology (zoom, G Suite)
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours required

Salary & benefits: 

  • Salary Range: 68,000-70,000 per year
  • Health Insurance
