POSITION: Operations Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Operations REPORTS TO: Operations Manager/Director of Operations FLSA STATUS: Exempt – Salary Summary ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Operations Supervisor at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Under direction of the Operations Supervisor & Director of Operations, the Operations Supervisor team member's primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with ASM policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises set-up/tear-down of meeting rooms. Supervises set-up of risers, chairs and stage for concerts etc. Supervises clean up of convention or trade show floor. Supervises booth and floor clean up during event. Responsible for stock and equipment inventory. Responsible for equipment upkeep and repair. Perform basic operational duties as a working supervisor. Responsible for hiring steps including interviewing, and shift placement; Also responsible for preparing separating documentation and all supporting materials as needed. Responsible for administering immediate disciplinary actions including dismissing employees from active duty for department violations/procedures; works directly with operations management and human resources in coordinating disciplinary action in verbal, written and other relating disciplinary matters. Responsible for payroll process and scheduling. Ability to lead operations crew to complete task assignments in a timely manner. Responsible for completion of assigned work orders through supervision of part-time operations crew. Assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events Assist with general related maintenance of the building as assigned. Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program and standard operations procedures for all machinery and equipment. Performs minor electrical repairs. Makes emergency plumbing repairs. Assists with the repair of all facility systems. Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed. Responsible for leading by example for the operations crew. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes. Work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Implement facility rules, regulation policies, and procedures. Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions. Communicate with Operations management/ Chief Engineer to ensure work is completed efficiently. Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to crew. All other necessary duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises operations crew. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems in compliance with Human Resources Policies and Procedures. Working Conditions Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays and can work flexible schedule Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Knowledge: Should possess working knowledge of stage, riser and chair set-up for varied events. Must be knowledgeable in commercial cleaning procedures, including operation of driver-controlled floor scrubber. Must be fork lift certified. Preferred Banquet Houseman experience. Education and/or Experience Computer Skills High School diploma or G.E.D. required One years experience performing building operations in an entertainment facility with a demanding schedule along with One (1) year supervisory experience.
