POSITION: Marketing Coordinator DEPARTMENT: Sales and Marketing REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Summary We’re looking for someone who’s a self-starter, adaptable and willing to come up with creative solutions. This position works closely with the Marketing Manager to support day-to-day marketing activities. The Marketing Coordinator will be a part of our marketing team and will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans for social media, website, communication strategy, branding, and more. The ideal candidate will show up with a positive attitude, willing to learn, and excited to promote Broward County Convention Center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support the marketing team in various projects Create flyers, banners, social media designs, and other collateral Manage and implement a content calendar for social media Manage and update the calendar of events on a CMS website Perform market analysis and research on competition Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities Prepare promotional presentations and branding decks Assists in developing Marketing Plan to include quarterly goals Carries out specific marketing plan relating to events using support of advertising and sponsorship opportunities Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or University in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred Minimum of 2 year’s experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or Sales in entertainment/Hospitality industry or related field Or, equivalent combination of education and experience requirement Exposure to and familiarity with similar facility environment Skills and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Proficient in Photoshop, Canvas or any other design program is a must Ability to stay focused, organized and manage time effectively Knowledge of and enthusiasm for social media/marketing methods and strategies Must be self-motivated and have sharp attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a team Flexible and creative personality Strong desire to learn along with professional drive Solid understanding of different marketing techniques Solid understanding of social media platforms Be comfortable learning new marketing software Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices A strong creative skillset and eye for visual composition Ability to multi-task projects effectively A self-starter and able to work with limited supervision Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, photography and videography is a plus Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
